I use instant messaging software, which some of you already know. I use trillian , because it lets me be on aim, yahoo, msn, and irc with just one client (not icq because I got way too much spam there). And I have a list of people on my messenger, imagine that. Now most of these people I talk to, a few of them I don't. Many of these people have icons attached to their names, and from time to time I'll go through the list and look at all the pictu...
I'm sure some of you have noticed the phenomenon that is search engines, with google seeming to be the most common. With 'googled' being a word used offline it's gotten around, that's for sure. You can put just about anything into the nice search box and get results. Sometimes this is good, when you find what your looking for or other useful bits of information. Other times you'll find complete junk, which is bad. I'll go so far as to say it's ...
It's summer again, seems to happen on a rather regular basis. With summer comes heat and being sweaty, two things I don't like together. Alright, that's not entirely true. I do like heat and sweat in certain situations, the situation known as 'summer' is not one of those. Being all hot and sweaty for weeks on end makes me rather irritable, not that I'm exactly pleasant to start with. Summer has just arrived and I'm already looking forward to wint...
I read in the paper today that the Netherlands had voted against the new European Union constitution. Alright, that's fine, their voting so their choice. In the article there was a quote from the president (prime minister, whatever the office is called over there) saying that it was bad they voted against it. Again, that's fine, expressing his opinion and all. But it got me wondering, if it was the peoples call, should not the person elected to re...
I can't hear. Sometime in the middle of the night my left ear went funny and now I can't hear out of it. It sort of feels like there is a pillow over it, is very odd. No pain, but no hearing either. Right ear feels ok, although it feels a bit odd too. I think that's because there is no more stereo but I can't be sure. So I get to go to the doctors in a few hours so they can poke me and prod me and tell me nothing is wrong (updates when/if I h...
I was eating breakfast this morning (imagine that, breakfast in the morning) and noticed a bee (or wasp, it flies, buzzes, and can sting me, who cares what it's really called) buzzing around the room. So I immediatly started plotting it's death, nice guy that I am. I don't like bees and will kill (or at least start plotting to) them on sight, at least inside. If outside, well that's their home so I'll leave them be so long as they leave me be. Ins...
I mentioned in another article that we have a new kitten (although at this point he isn't exactly new anymore). Well I went downstairs to have lunch and what do I find? The kitten is on the kitchen counter, one of the places he's not supposed to be (although if you listen to my parents the only place he is supposed to be is in his litter box...). So I grab him and toss him across the room, he should know better then that. And considering he looked...
Gideon MacLeish 's article on points got me wondering where I stood on the silly charts. I know I'm not posting as much as I once did, so I expected to find that I'd sunked quiet a bit in ranking. Surprise, surprise, on the top users I come in at 33 . Right next to Ted (congrats on the featured review) and Heather (write more soon? please?), good company there I think I might have gained a few pl...
Ingredients: Filtered Water, Grape Juice Concentrate (Filtered Water, Grape Juice Concentrate), Grape Juice, Calcium Gluconate, Malic Acid, Natural Flavor, Sodium Citrate, Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Calcium Lactate, Sucralose (Splenda Brand), Acesulfame Potassium Filtered Water First ingredient, makes sense too. Of course it's has alot of water, everything has water in it. And in this case, since it's the 'light' grape juice, it's probably more then half water as it is. Half the calori...
Today I received a "Quarterly Statement Notice" claiming to be from paypal. Which I thought was rather odd, since I've never used paypal (or e-bay or anything else that would likely get them thinking I had an account). How can they notify me of my statement when I have no account? My first thought was scam, trying to get my information somehow for something illegalish. But the email looks good to me, and includes no links to strange and unusual we...
So a few nights back we (being my family) somehow got into a conversation about the definition of the word 'homophobia'. Normal dinner topic I'm sure. What brings this up is that the definition appears to be the fear and discrimination of homosexuals. I thought that was rather odd so I looked it up. According to the nice online dictionary that definition is correct. So logically, claustrophobia must be ...
So a few weeks back (think easter time) my sister left a kitten with us. In all fairness we did know she was going to do this, it wasn't just an easter surprise. Now we have psycho kitten (but then again arn't all kittens psycho) running around the house. Is source of great amusement. But also has some oddness/ungoodness to it as well. The litter and food are kept in the computer room. Apparently I'm the...
I'm a coward. If I wasn't I'd probably be in jail. But at least I'd have a better idea of how she feels about me. Instead I sit in my corner waiting for death to claim me, which it will, eventually, it's part of being a mortal (, foolish (which raises the question are their any unfoolish mortals?)). What brought this on? Well tonight I went to my brothers musical/play at his school. They did brigadoon, which for those of you that don't know is a love story about trusting your heart and ...
Another Easter has past, as I'm sure most of you have noticed. Yet you might have missed it. Unlike Christmas, it doesn't dominate the market and make headlines for weeks on end (or maybe it does but I've missed it). I can buy that it's that way for economic reasons, but religiously, shouldn't it be the other way around? Not to say Christmas isn't important, is good to celebrate the birth of Jesus and all. But shouldn't his rebirth (resurrection)...
So I got a new computer not too long ago and I decided to play some older games that I had difficulties with before. Like Morrowind . Previously, it was a great game, but I would spend way too much time loading, which made it less fun. Installed the game, and both of it's expansions, then went looking for mods. Morrowind came with it's own editor and there are a ton of mods out there for it. Well I found a bunch that I thought would be nice, g...
