I Like Silly Acronyms

I have five things to say in this article, some connected to each other, some not, so I'm just going to mash them together and call it good
On friday I wrote a "friday five" thing up, as I did for the two fridays before that. For those of you that arn't aware of it, Mignuna used to do "friday five"s but then she stopped. And now she has come back? (or one can hope at least) If she has and wants to reclaim them that would be good, but if she doesn't that ok too. Ask far as I'm concerned anyone could write one, but I think it would be silly if eight (to pick a random number) people posted one on the same friday. So some coordination could be good. If nobody says anything to the contrary I'll continue posting every friday, if someone wants to take a particular friday just say so. Must continue bizarre community building activities
There is another blogger here named Angloesque. I think she has blacklisted me, since I can't commment on any of her articles (no box to type in comments). Now I'm not going to tell her (or anyone else) that she is wrong in doing this, it's her blog after all. Although I can think of no reason why I would have been blacklisted, hence mentioning it so that if it was an accident it could be undone. Or if there is some other odd reason she knows why I'm not commenting on her articles.
Which brings me to referrals, in particular referals from Yahoo Mail. As asked here and then here, referals can confuse some people. I will in no way claim all referals from yahoo mail, but I do watchlist many articles (one could say I abuse the watchlist feature). In the second article I linked to there are two links back to yahoo mail (at least at the time I'm writing this). When I click on either link I end up in my mailbox looking at a watchlist email linking back to the article. Which leads me to believe that those referals are being generated by me. Is really rather embarassing, knowing that any article I decide to watch will have my mark left all over it. Makes me want the watchlist to be able to display in it's entirety so I can open articles from it instead, since that way doesn't generate referals since it is a link from inside joeuser. Oh well, guess it goes to show there really isn't anonymity on the internet, just so long as you know where to look.
I have decided that I liked collecting and sorting things, even if they are things I will never touch again. Sugar High Elf pointed me at Neurotically Yours (warning: while funny, is also often bloody and just plain twisted) and I decided to acquire all the episodes. So now I've got 69 episodes, plus 6 other little flash files sitting in a folder. All nicely renamed and pretty. Sure, I'll watch them again sometime, but how practically was gathering them in the first place? Yet it was something I enjoyed doing. I think I must be crazy
And that leaves just one thing to say before finishing this blog (which really means just one more before proofreading twice, adding some more links, and then posting). Months back I was talking to some people that were saying joeuser should have a chat room, but it didn't (or at least they couldn't find one, and neither could I). Well a few days ago I was fiddling around with Stardock Central and noticed it had a built in irc client. And while it had a variety of channels (wincustomize, galciv, etc) it didn't have a JoeUser one. So I joined one, which appeard to have made it. So unless I'm mistaken there is now a JoeUser channel on Stardock's irc server. Not that anyone will go there to talk or anything, but it's there. For those familiar with irc: irc.stardock.com:6667, #JoeUser. For the rest of you: Stardock Central has a built in irc client, so install it (you don't need registration information to install, although you might to download, not sure on that detail), hit chat (left side, blue/green people), connect (top of viewing window, just under the stardock logo), /join #JoeUser (typed in the status window), and you should be set. (now lets hope this doesn't bring the wrath of Draginol down upon me )

I have thought many times that it would be cool to set up a JU chat room in IRC (I hang out pretty regularly in the Stardock channel). Next time I am on I will peak and see if it is still there Danny.

so, which is your favorite cartoon thus far?

BlueDev: Sure thing, stop by and talk to whoever, might even be someone there to talk with. Last night InBloom and xtine showed up and we talked about nothing at all, was great fun
Sugar High Elf: Tough call. A-Kon Rules is funny with Foamy going on about stinky people that don't shower while Germaine is playing an odd game in the background. Jiggly Butt is just funny, as is the hospital stay story (all 4 episodes). But I'm going to have to say Form Letter is my favorite.

"Must continue bizarre community building activities "

Danny, I think it's great that you're carrying on this fun activity.

You have my vote to continue if Migs doesn't want to do it anymore.

I still haven't figured out how you could add that world icon thingy next to your link in an article.

Friday Fives - I don't think it matters who does it, and i think it's nice you are doing it. It's one of the light hearted fun things.

Ravenblack: World icon? You mean the way the forum makes my articles look ugly? It does some autoformating on links which adds the icon and makes it look odd, none of that on the blog itself (ie viewed not on the forum).

Ah I see now that it only appears when you are in-forum. But my articles with links don't have the icon even when viewed in the forum. Not that it's a big deal but it made me wonder that's all.
