I Like Silly Acronyms
truth is stranger than fiction
Published on December 7, 2004 By Danny Bassette In Current Events
So I'm reading the paper today while I have lunch and I find two crazy stories.
The first is about a "ghost cane" that sold for $65000 on ebay. Bought by the same company that bought the virgin mary moldy sandwich. The owner of the cane said she was selling it so that her 6 year old son would think that his grandfathers ghost would leave the house with it. Tis just silly, that's what I think.
And second is a company called Allerca that is genetically manipulating (for lack of a better term) cats that people arn't allergic too. They plan on having sold 200000 by 2010, and are looking for $7000 a kitten. And since the cats could pass on their changes to their offspring, everyone they sell will be sterile. While this one is less silly then the cane, I still say it's crazy.
Now I'll go and look for links to see if this news exists elsewhere besides the local paper...

Grandpa's 'ghost cane' sells for $65,000 on eBay
Genetically modified cats for sale Looks like I was off a bit on the cats, it's $3500 for the cats in america. Still seems like alot of money for a cat.

Those are truly bizarre. And truth is stranger than fiction.

I saw an "air guitar" sold on ebay! Some one actually paid like $5.00 for it.....

-Isn't that what the lady who sold the virgin Mary grilled cheese said? Haha. Jeez, these people with their crazy stuff...but what about the CRAZY people who buy them??? (Not the cat, I mean. The cat thing's a bit excessive, but at least there's a logical reason for it.)

I guess they saved on shipping, though?

That's it... I'm tired of everyone else making money off their stupid sh*t while I'm stuck with mine.

Do you think people would pay for a haunted puzzle of a wizard? It glows at night... it's really freaky..... any takers?

on Dec 07, 2004
Sure, I'll pay shipping costs. Unless it's missing pieces, then it's no good

I knew there was a reason I should shop on eBay more...things are cheaper there, right?

Ugh. My grandmother-in-law has become an eBayer in the last decade. Her office went from being clean and airy to cramped, dusty, and full of utter crap.

Shipping and handling was included.
