Grumpy Old Man
Published on June 29, 2005 By Danny Bassette In Blogging
I am a grumpy old man. Yep, that's me.
But I try not to let it show too much, too often. Not much point to making anyone else grumpy as well, now is there? Helps make blogging harder, that it does. After all, wouldn't be fair to go on about how evil and wrong something is when I'm really not upset at whatever it is, it just happens to be a convenient target for grumpiness generated elsewhere. Can't be having that, wouldn't be proper and such. Must only rant about things that are worthy of ranting about, grumpiness must be spent on an appropriate target. Must be fair and all.
So in between pondering if a particualr topic is something that I don't like or just something I can yell about, I get distracted (oooh, pretty lights) and nothing gets written. So no falling off the face of the world here, at least not yet. Which is probably a bad thing, some falling might do some good.

And for those that might try and say I'm not a grumpy old man: If you want to say I'm not a man, fine, I can work with that. Last time I checked (which just happened to be as I write this) I have the appropriate parts to be considered male. But I can see where male might not mean man, so if you want to argue that one I won't argue back. As for old, well grumpy young man doesn't sound nearly as good. Age (at least in the sense of old/young) is relative, and mostly a frame of mind. I feel old, so the number of years I am isn't relevant. Which leaves grumpy... Bah Humbug is really all there is to say about that.

You go boy. Be true to your true nature.

(I happen to be grumpy - I call it "bitchy" - a lot, and today in particular, so I can't very well complain about you attitude).

Instead of Grumpy Old Man, you could be an Angry Young Man. You'd even have a theme song!

I don't know, I tend to enjoy reading about stuff that makes other people grumpy, bitchy, or overexcited. I'm sure I'm not alone. And Bah Humbug is a great signing off line.

Cordelia: And what if it's not my nature, just how I am now?
Zoomba: Yeah, I could, except I feel more grumpy then angry, and I most definitly don't feel young. Although, a theme song might be nice...
NickyG: Yes, reading (and writing) can be entertaining. But I shouldn't write about say, how much I hate apple sauce when it's the broccoli I don't like. Wouldn't make much sense, and in this case I happen to like both broccoli and apple sauce (but not together, that would be icky).

You can also simply put it as a grumpy old day; or grumpy old month or grumpy old whatever! I understand what you're saying though. I feel like a grumpy old woman myself today! We all have our moments obviously. So from one grumpy to another.....bah hambug!

Hmmmm.....A GOM or a GYM.........Decisions, decisions.

foreverserenity: I could say the day/week/month/whatever is grumpy, but that wouldn't be entirely true (at least for me), since I'm the grumpy one.
Dr. Guy: Gym is good, can't go wrong with exercise.

I dont think so.  It has happened to a couple of us before.  My recommendation (and Danny may have a better one) is to delete your cookies and cache, and then restart and try again.

Your grumpy is my "moody"...dunno if it makes it sound less awful

island_gurl12: It might, but that's not the only thing it could stand for.
Texas Wahine: Ah, well at least we have that straightened out then.
Dr. Bailey: I was not aware I was being that comical, but hey, find your entertainment where you can.
silverandjadetears: If the log in isn't working it's probably a cookie issue (like Dr. Guy said). His suggestion might work, but it's also possible that your browser isn't letting the cookie be saved. Would need to know which browser your using to give directions on how to check that.
InBloom: It does sound less awful, but I figure might as well call it what it is.

I am honored!  I have been attributed by Danny!  Thanks!
