I Like Silly Acronyms

A while back I went to a restaurant (Don Pablos I think) and they had something called dogs in a blanket. Was a food idea I hadn't thought of before, and it tastes pretty good. I've made it a few times since, and today that's what I had for lunch. For anyone wondering I'll share how I make this yummy foodstuff.
Ingredints: taco/burito shell (round flat bready thing), cheese (any kind will work, just needs to be thinish), and hot dogs. I'm making two of them, so I need two dogs, four slices of cheese and two taco shells. The hot dogs are frozen to start, and I need them thawed, so I stick them in the microwave. Not really cooking them, just getting them unfrozen. Take the taco shell, lay the cheese in it, more to one side then another. I used pre sliced american cheese, but you could use any cheese that is thin and takes heat well. Then I took the hot dogs out of the microwave and put one in each taco, on top of the cheese so it was also off center. Then I wrapped the shell around the hot dog, starting with the side it is closest too. Like it was in a blanket of cheese and shell. Used the weight of the dog to hold it wrapped, stuck the whole thing back in the microwave to finish cooking. Exactly how long to microwave is personal preference, I use the sensor reheat option on ours. Mileage likely varies between microwaves. And there is no reason you couldn't use another source of heat, just have to take whatever steps were necesary for it. Total time taken was about five minutes.
       And that was lunch today

lol sounds familiar...when i was growing up my familly would have their own version of pigs in a blanket..they'd take a corn tortilla, put a hog dog weiner in it..and roll the tortilla up...then they would be cooked with a bit of oil in a pan...they looked kinda weird, but didn't taste bad...some ppl would even dip them into mustard to get a taste similar to a hot dog lol...but it seems like cheese would taste better...

This is so tasty. I used to make these all the time when I lived at home. Especially during the summer when Mom was shopping, Dad was at work, and I had to feed younger brother. He is ten years younger than me. He probably hates hot dogs now.
